Two musicals, the stage adaptation of a beloved film, and a period farce headline Starkville Community Theatre’s 2022-2023 season, which begins in October.
Season tickets are on sale now, with a main season of four shows available at a season package cost of $60 per person. An extended season ticket, which includes the extra show "Greater Tuna", is also available for $75.
Season tickets save money off general admission costs and allow early booking for reservations, before the public can take the best seats on the most popular performance dates.
The shows in our main season will be:
“Into the Woods” - October 12 through 22, 2022
This classic Stephen Sondheim musical intertwines the plots of several of the Brothers Grimm fairy tales, exploring the characters’ wishes and the consequences of their actions. Darkly comic and poignant, this show asks the question: What happens AFTER "happily ever after"?
General admission tickets will be $25 and will go on sale September 29.
“Sanders Family Christmas” - December 1 through 10, 2022
A sequel to the popular musical comedy “Smoke on the Mountain” (produced by SCT in the 2021-2022 season). The bluegrass-gospel troupe the Sanders Family Singers returns for a revival in Mt. Pleasant, North Carolina, in December 1941 - their final show before son Dennis leaves for military service in World War II. Hilarious, heartfelt, and filled wall-to-wall with toe-tapping music and Christmastime standards, this show is guaranteed to kickstart your holiday spirit.
General admission tickets will be $25 and will go on sale November 18.
“Terms of Endearment” - February 16 through 25, 2023
Adapted from the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Larry McMurtry and the Academy Awardwinning 1983 film by James L. Brooks, this comedy-drama follows the 30-year relationship between a mother and daughter, full of laughter, tears, courtships, grandchildren, the unbreakable bonds of family, and the endurance of love through some of life's hardest moments.
**This production contains strong language & some adult themes and is intended for mature audiences.**
General admission tickets will be $15 and will go on sale February 2.
“Suite Surrender” - April 13 through 22, 2023
Set in 1942, this delirious farce finds two feuding Hollywood divas booked in the same luxury suite at a Palm Beach hotel where both are set to headline a wartime benefit. Hilarity ensues as assistants and hotel staff try keep the two actresses from seeing one another, at all costs.
General admission tickets will be $15 and will go on sale March 30.

“Greater Tuna” - May 9 through 13, 2023
This side-splitting broad comedy is about the wacky inhabitants (men, women, children, and animals) of rural Tuna, Texas – pointedly the Lone Star State's third-smallest town – all played by two actors who change characters, voices, and costumes at breakneck speed.
General admission tickets will be $15 and will go on sale April 27.
Your purchase of a season ticket means you have pre-paid your admission to the shows, but you will still need to make seating reservations for each production. Reservations are generally available 2 to 3 weeks prior to opening nights, and we will send reminders to your email address when the booking window is close to opening. For season ticket redemptions, you will need to either drop by our office during open hours or give our box office phone line a call - you will NOT be able to reserve season ticket seating online for each production.
