Based on Mel Brooks' cult classic movie ("My films rise below vulgarity", he once said), "The Producers" was a sensation in New York City, winning a record 12 Tony awards, taking no prisoners with its in-your-face humor and skewering of Broadway tradition.
Down-on-his-luck Broadway producer Max Bialystock (Paul Ruff) and mild-mannered accountant Leo Bloom (Darryl Brundidge) come up with a scheme to produce the most notorious flop in history, thereby bilking their backers (all "little old ladies") out of millions of dollars. The plan is flawless, from finding the worst script possible (the wildly offensive "Springtime for Hitler") to assembling the most ill-fitting creative team. Only one thing goes awry: the show is an unexpected smash hit!
This outrageous and hilarious musical comedy co-stars Jakob Vernon, Helen Anne Horecky, Shane Tubbs, and Bradley Long, and features ensemble members John Cranford, Brendan Dobbs, Yasmine Griffin, David Hintz, Jasmine Johnson, Nece Looby, Gabbi Morrelli, Mia Robertson, Darein Spann, and Pat Wooden.
The show is directed by Gabe Smith, with assistance from Regan Plunkett, musical direction by Jordan Durham, and choreography by Jonette Shurden.
*Know Before You Go: "The Producers" contains moments of strong language, adult themes and abrasive, bawdy humor – we consider it a hard PG-13.*
