ABOUT ABOUT

For one night only, the Starkville Community Theatre stage will host a performance of its national-competition-bound one-act play "Underneath the Lintel", onstage at the Playhouse at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 9.

Tickets for the show are available here online or over the phone at 662.323.6855.

In this gripping ghost story, an eccentric librarian (played by Kris Lee) discovers a weather-beaten book in a return bin — 113 years overdue. Sparked by a message left in its margins, he embarks on a magical quest that takes him around the world and 2,000 years into the past. With astonishing twists and turns, "Underneath the Lintel" draws audience members into an unforgettable odyssey via a one-man monologue.

This production is heading to nationals in Louisville, KY in mid-June, having won Best Production, Best Actor, and Best Director in both state competition in January and regional competition in March. Your purchase of a ticket helps support our trip to compete at the highest level as we support Starkville and the state of Mississippi on a larger stage.

Written by Glen Berger, "Underneath the Lintel" is directed by Paula Mabry, with assistance from Pattye Archer. Additional crew members for the traveling show include Madeline Golden, Thomas La Foe, and Gabe Smith.

This performance is not included as part of any SCT season ticket, and admission is $20. 100% of sales will support SCT's programming and the costs of this trip to nationals.

The physical box office will return any voicemails for reservation requests in the weeks ahead, and sales here online will stay "live" until all seats are sold. For any remaining last-minute seats, the office will open on show night at 6 p.m..

Originally produced professionally Off-Broadway at the Soho Playhouse. UNDERNEATH THE LINTEL is produced by special arrangement with Broadway Play Publishing Inc, NYC
