ABOUT ABOUT

SCT's new year of programming kicks off with the fundraiser one-woman show "Every Brilliant Thing", starring Elizabeth Davis Williams, directed by Pattye Archer.

Admission to this heart-wrenching and heart-warming show is not part of any season ticket and is intended to help raise funds for and kick off our new season, which starts in October. Season tickets are not yet on sale, but they will be available very soon.

"Every Brilliant Thing", written by Duncan Macmillan with Jonny Donahoe, is a soul-lifting theatrical experience that, through interaction with its live Narrator, brings the audience inside a deeply personal and relatable story about life, love, and the lengths we will go to for those we care about.

You’re six years old. Your mom's in the hospital. Dad says she’s “done something stupid.” She finds it hard to be happy. So you start to make a list of everything that’s brilliant about the world. Everything that’s worth living for. 1. Ice cream. 2. Kung Fu movies. 3. Burning things. 4. Laughing so hard you shoot milk out your nose. 5. Construction cranes. 6. Me. You leave it on her pillow. You know she’s read it because she’s corrected your spelling. Soon, the list will take on a life of its own.

The show will perform August 24 and 25, nightly at 7 p.m., and August 27 at 2 p.m., with all tickets $20.

In addition to sales here online, the SCT physical box office is reachable at 662.323.6855. For calls or in-person visits in the first two days of sales, the office will be open Monday, August 7 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Tuesday, August 8 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.. Following those first two days, the office will return any voicemails several times daily.

"Every Brilliant Thing" is presented by special arrangement with Broadway Licensing, LLC, servicing the Dramatists Play Service collection. (www.dramatists.com)
